Becky and Brutus came over!
I’ve been supervising major renovations in the garden. Emma’s on a mission to move plants from around the big evergreen, and let me tell you, it’s been a whole production. She found a baby evergreen sapling and gave it a VIP spot by the backyard gate. I gave it a good sniff—it passed. I guess in five years it’ll be something big. I’ll keep my eye on it.
Emma’s been a little overstimulated lately. I get it—too many squirrels in the brain. She bought a bunch of matching T-shirts for her and Joel. One has a truck (I approve), one has a skull (slightly threatening), and one has a lightning bolt (shocking!). She says she likes wearing matching shirts with people. Honestly, I’m surprised she hasn’t ordered one for me yet. Missed opportunity, Emma.
Yesterday was perfect. Becky and Brutus came over! Brutus and I tore through the backyard like wild puppies—shoulder to shoulder, besties in action. And Becky? Total queen. I curled right up in her lap and snoozed like a baby. I think Brutus was a little jealous. She’s watching me Monday when Emma runs off with Katelyn, and again when Emma and Joel go on their mysterious getaway. I approve of this plan. Becky gives the best snuggles.
After Becky left, Emma zoomed around town again—printed scrapbook photos, grabbed more T-shirts (more?), and picked up another bag of volcanic rock for the yard. I don’t know what volcanic rock is, but it sounds dangerous and dramatic. The drainage area looks alright, but apparently, it’s not fabulous enough yet. We’ll see what she does next. I’ll be watching—preferably from a shady patch with snacks.
