"I am small, but I hold big love. My fur is perfect, my bark is strong, and my pack is safe because I’m here."
Emma woke up cranky today, which means I have to double my cuteness to keep the vibe balanced. Not easy, but I’m a professional. I think she’s stressing because her list of “human things” is too long. Humans are weird—always rushing around, worrying about what they didn’t do, instead of napping in the sun like a sensible creature.
She says she wishes she read more. Honestly, I support this. Reading means she’s sitting still, and when she sits still, I can curl up on her lap and supervise.
Last night, she was at Judy’s making jewelry. Or trying to. She came home grumbling about not creating anything “good,” but I think everything Emma makes smells like love, which is good enough for me. She adores Judy—calls her her best friend. I get it. Judy always smells like snacks and happiness.
Oh, and the beads. Don’t even get me started on the beads. Emma says she’s making animal earrings for the craft fair. If she makes any that look like me, they’d better be fancy. Prince-level fancy. I’m the muse around here.
Yesterday, she spent hours in the yard moving plants around. She talks to them like they’re her friends, which is fine, but I’m her real assistant. She spotted a baby tree this morning and got all excited. Humans love baby trees. Me? I’d prefer a baby steak, but whatever.
I did get left behind when she went swimming and to Judy’s. t I call it rude. Still, I handled it like the noble prince I am. Two walks at the park made up for it.
Today, she’s running around getting ready for some trip to Kentucky. Sunscreen, snacks, matching T-shirts for her and Joel—blah, blah, blah. Meanwhile, I’ll be at home making sure the squirrels don’t unionize in the backyard. I have never been to Kentucky. I wonder if it is anything like California. I am excited to find out!Anyway, I’m off to nap in my sunbeam and supervise her packing. She needs me. They all do.
My Daily Affirmation:
"I am small, but I hold big love. My fur is perfect, my bark is strong, and my pack is safe because I’m here."
